After Gibraltar we were glad to get back to Spain. Quick bus ride back to Algeciras and then a train to Rhoda. ABSOLUTELY recommended! The train ride is amazing. Its up through the mountain passes through dark tunnels and bridges along the river. Mountains and valleys dot the countryside. Theres a bunch of small villages with acres and acres of farm and orchards all around. Rhonda is a beautiful town. You can walk pretty easily from the train station right down to the middle of town. Theres a long pedestrian road lined with great stores. The place was pretty deserted this time of year and at times we felt like the only tourists in town.

We stayed at a gorgous hotel (to make up for the night before). The hotel is right on the side of the revene that drops some 100 meters straight down to the river below. The revene is spanned by a medival looking bridge. Theres a bullfighting arena and cobblestone roads all around. The hotel is a redone mansion and the room was tastefully decorated with antiques. The coolest thing was the lights in the hallways. As you came near them they slowly turned up and

the city is divided by a deep ravine. An amazing bridge spans the two parts.
then after a while they turned back down to low. We both slept great and woke to find ourselves the only ones in the dining room for breakfast overlooking the valley below. Breakfast was strong Spanish coffee (for me) thick coco for luke and fresh pastries, lushous pears and cheese, salami and toast. Yum!
