Wow! Our visit to La Mejorana guest house in the white hill town of Grazalema
was the most amazing and rejuvenating 4 days of our Spain trip!
We enjoyed exhilarating hikes in the Andalusia limestone mountains
beneath the awesome circling vultures.
Andres would recommend a new hike each day and provide us with maps.
We found flowers blooming and even spotted several ibex.
We walked an old Roman road and heard sheep bells echoing in the distance.
And the sunshine in late December was much needed.
But the best thing was the inviting environment of La Mejorana itself.
We spent four days and nights of blissful relaxation.
Our room was spacious and comfortable
and felt like a bedroom in an old Spanish home, which it is.
Bird song and roosters crowing could be heard from our balcony.
After a day of hiking we would return to the common room
which had comfortable couches
and Andres always had a fire going in the fireplace.
All of the guests (5 or 6 couples) would gravitate to this area.

I think we were on top of the world. bottle of wine, warm up, make plans for dinner out, play games, read.
Whatever we wanted.
New Year's Eve - locals and tourists mingle in the handful of restaurants
packed for the celebration.
After dinner everyone took a glass of cava out to the plaza
at each stroke of midnight, eat a grape and take a drink - 12 in all.
Quite a challenge, especially since the grapes weren't seedless.
The cold night quickly drove us back into our hotel.
