We didn’t want to leave beautiful Lake Bohinj but the end of our trip was fast drawing near and we had to move on. Before we left the area we went to see a nearby waterfall, Slap Savica.
Then it was the short drive to Lake Bled, far more commercialised than Bohinj but something we thought we ought to see. We set ourselves up at Camping Bled and in the afternoon went to see Vingar Gorge, a 1600 m long defile which was only discovered by the local Mayor in 1891. He was so thrilled with what he had found he opened up tourist access by the construction of a chain of wooden gantries and bridges that are still in use today.
