Postonja has some famous show caves but they seemed very crowded and commercial and so instead visited the dramatically sited Predjama Castle, 10k out of town. Predjama is situated in a huge cavern hollowed out of a cliff face over a swallow hole of the Lokva stream.

We continued northwards for 100k for much of the time following the course of the river Idrijca on an attractive road. To save toiling over a mountain pass we had an adventurous ride through a tunnel on a car train which took us to Lake Bohinj which is surrounded by steeply sloping mountains on all sides. The campsite is in a superb location right by the water.
