Harvey where are you!?!?
Just a quick update as we haven’t headed north as the last post suggested, as I have said the best plan is not too plan too hard, and that is just what has happened. You will remember that we weren’t feeling the love of The Algarve, well that all changed when we found ourselves in Lagos the guide book suggest it’s a sunny town (how could they plan that!!) it’s pretty cobbled streets bristle with cafes, restaurants and bars and yes they do but in a more Portuguese way than the Brits abroad way. There is history here too and a genteel walk around the town will have you engaged with what used to be Portugal’s shipbuilding capital, the Marina sits beautifully at the top of the town close to the very busy Aire!! So a short amble back to the van after enjoying the last of the evening sun.

Ponta Da Piedade is a short drive out of Lagos and is a stunning dramatic wedge of headland, we are fortunate that being here in what must be the Portuguese spring the countryside is full of blossom the Almond tree blossom is all but finished but there is still plenty of colour which makes it all the more appealing. Having sorted a short drive to our next Aire and what should have been a one night stay, but having informed that there was a lovely beach a 20min walk away, which we duly visited and they were right, and with the temperatures up at (officially) 24c we decided another night was called for. Today we have walked to Salema a very pleasant village set on a wide Bay, the water looks very appealing but chilly but with today’s temperatures there were people venturing in, and of course Poppy was in her element. The day finished off at a lovely and very authentic Fish restaurant. Tomorrow we really do turn north and hope that the Wi-Fi is as well connected as we are!
