For the first time for about a week, we had dry, warm and sunny weather which improved as we headed west to Praia de Mira on the Atlantic Coast.
On the way we visited Mata Nacional Do Buçaco. A forested hill settled by Carmelite monks in the 17th Century who built a wall around their park and planted over 700 varieties of trees from all over the world. We had a quiet walk via yet another series of stations of the cross to the summit but our peace was shattered as it was occupied by a large party of students on a day out.
