The sail from Faial to Sao Jorge was a pleasant 4 hour crossing. When we called the harbor master on the VHF we were told there was no room in the inn but that we could tie up to the reception area (a high concrete wall). The day we took a hike to the lighthouse at the west end of the island it was misty and rained some, but we still enjoyed it.

This end of the island is covered in pastures and lots of cows grazing.

This event definitely makes all the guys that go inside the pasture into runners and jumpers – luckily this guy just made it high enough to escape!

We watched 2 of the 4 bulls during the “bullfight” in the village of Santo Antao . This was a safer type with it being in a pasture rather than running through the streets of the village like most of them are.
