It is to hot over here! We have left Portugal now and in Spain and yesterday it was hitting 43deg in Saville where we are now so very hot.
Well Portugal was pretty much the same heat but no way as bad so was heaps easier for sightseeing. We covered pretty much North to South in the week we had there starting in Porto up the North end. I seemed to be a very old city with all narrow streets and we got lost plenty of times wandering around this place. All the citys in Portugal seem to be very hilly but it made for some great views though of the city from the other side of the river exp when the sun was setting having a couple of beers. We preferred this city more the Lisbon just because it was way more chilled out and not the big city rush.
We really enjoyed our time there in Porto and we are just taking it easy with the walking around with all the city´s in Portugal and Spain cause of the heat.
Lisbon the capital was no way near as nice as Porto we thought, it just has a booming nightlife :) But still some great sights to see around the city though, the castle, all the churches and the same as Porto the narrow streets for getting lost in. Walked around for 8 hours one day in the heat and we were completly buggered and we had out CB´s on so massive singlet marks now which we tried to take care of in Lagos but failed as you will see..
We had a couple of great night there with our host whose parents didn´t speak one word of English so that was interesting trying to communicate with them. They cooked up some awsome Portugal meals though which is always good. A fantastic thing they have there in Portugal is the Pasties de nata and these are like custard tarts but better and they are everywhere and cheap. No idea how many of those we ate over the week..
Our last stop was Lagos down the South and had three nights here to relax for a while before heading back in Spain. Well the first night was no relaxing since it was Saturday in Lagos so headed out and we couldn´t find a single person who spoke Portugese! It is full of English tourists and is a party city! Still at 2am it is around 25deg so everyone still up partying having a good time. We headed to the beach the next day for a couple of hours and got our pasty bodies out and finished up red raw! Three days latter we are still hurting from that day and still red raw! Just waiting to go brown for a day then peel and maybe get some more freckles! So the other two days there was spend laying around our room and eating pretty much, there is nothing there to see anyway and we needed a break from the travels so didn´t really matter.
So thats about it for now and take care everyone!
