Kari-Lise and Goethe next to Lynn in the back row. Kristin with Victoria to the right. Hege, Mai Elise, Tage and Romsa in front.
On Saturday we were invited to spend the afternoon and have lunch with Hege's older brother Goethe, his wife Kari-Lise and their three children. Both Goethe and Kari-Lisa are geologists and work in environmental fields. They live in a beautiful home with a magnificent view in a town called Stavern further south along the fjord. First we took a nice walk down into the town and along the waterfront. At one time this was a strategic military location since shipping could be controlled coming into the fjord. So there is an old fort to explore. Again, we were blessed with beautiful weather!

We then returned to Goethe's home where he prepared a tasty shellfish lunch. Blue mussels, crab and shrimp. Another wonderful day and a chance to meet more of Hege's family

Bjørge has has spent his life around boats and he and Hege own a beautiful, solidly Norwegian built 29 footer. The boat is kept in a small marina just a five minute walk from their home. Somehow, on Monday, Bjørge found the time between his business commitments to take us on an afternoon cruise. We traveled to a nearby island called Mølen which is now a nature

preserve. Hege told us that in the summer it is very busy but today we had the place pretty much to ourselves. We had a light picnic of fruit and vegetables and Lynn and Hege took a walk around the island. We dogged a few rain showers right up until the end! Another lovely day.
