A stop along the Canal to check out the ducks on my bike ride
Hello! This is Melissa from Amsterdam! I arrived safely at 10 am here but a little earlier in the morning in Minnesota! The plane ride went fast, the first words out of my neighbor for the nights mouth was "Guess we are spending the night together," an Austrian who was flying home to his family. Nice Guy.

Smitty (one of my dad's best friends from college) and Xandra (his wife who is from Amsterdam) picked me up at the airport and I got to check out their house, which is right off of the Canal. After a tour of my digs for the night, Smitty grabbed a bike and we headed along one of the many paths that runs along the canal. It is so beautiful here, perfect 65 degrees and green everywhere. We biked careful to not hit any sheep or get hit by any cars. The town of Amstel has 3 beautiful churches, and the cutest shops. We took in coffee (coke for me!) and applecake at the local cafe. , while watching the boats go through the canal!

I am going to go hang out on the canal and then off to downtown Amsterdam with Timon

A relaxing stop for Applecake, coffe (coke for me) and watching the boats in the sunshine! (In the town of Amstel)
and Jimmy (Smitty and Xandra's kids) who I will be catching up on their latest adventures as Jimmy has recently stared in Les Misearbles and going to an acting camp in London this summer, and Timon who is going to get a certificate in Digital Media, should be an adventure.

1:00 am on June 4th - Just returned from my whirlwind trip through Amsterdam. Strating through the Museum Platz through the dam we walked through Amsterdam, taking in the sites and sounds of the tourists and locals. Stopping along the way for snacks and ice cream. It was a wonderful time and I saw much of the city. To wrap up the night we took in Xman 3 at the local Cinema with Dutch subtitles!

More later! Happy Travels to my Ladies who are coming soon! Sounds like a great time in London Aisha, can't wait to hear what happens next.

😊 Melissa

SO FUN!
Hi girls! It looks like you are having so much fun! It is so beautiful over there! We just returned from the beautiful Black Hills where we finished our marathon! We couldnt have asked for a better day and the Mickelson Trail was lovely! Chris finished in 4:10 (his PR YAY!) and I came in 7 minutes later which isnt a PR but considering the terrain of the trail and the fact that half of it was uphill I am very happy! My time put me third in my age group so I got a railroad stake saying that as an award! The trail is an old railroad...hence the stake. Pretty cool! Chris and I ran 20 miles of it together which was awesome! What a good fiance I have...okay enough about us you girls keep having a blast! see you when you get home! Thanks for the updates and photos! We love it and it makes us want to go! Love, Amy and Chris
