We had a pleasant morning in Sirmione. First enjoying coffee and biscuits and the view over Lake Garda in the Grand Hotel Terme whilst using their internet connection. Then joining the crowds of tourists whilst we explored the town, walked along its lakeside path, looked in its churches and climbed up to its castle battlements.
The rest of the day was the start of the long journey north and home. We found a very pleasantly situated camp site on Lake Lugano close to the Swiss border in the village of Ponte Tresa where we enjoyed our last Italian meal at La Sella d’Oro.
