yay!!! sooo the other day after i wrote...... kat and i went AGAIN back to feed the pigeons
haha because we love them.. then we went and got some more pizza because we love it.. and went back to our little cafe that we love... then went to bed early.. we ended up sharing this room with two really nice girls from
oregon. ... AND THEN yesterday we woke up really early and walked to st.margerhita square to watch the fresh fish market people and their dogs
and.. then walked to a crazy huge basillica on the other side of venice which
was beutiful.. on the outside.. and pretty basic on the inside..
then went back for our last slice of venice pizza! then we walked to san marco square again and booked an 3 hour excursion to the islands of
burano.. muran and torcella. which was soo much fun!!!! burano.. we got to
go and see how glass was made which was ACCTUALLY interesting.. and then
murano.. is the cutest island ever.. because neighbors try to "out-do" eachother by painting their houses.. well more like.. huts.. prettier colors than the next.. so it was a whole island of blue and purple and pink.. and you get the point.. then torcello was like a ghost town island where the whole town was wiped out by malaria a long time ago.. and all that is left are old cathedrals.. kat and i even put in a donation so that we could light a candel.. and then we came back to san marco sqaure.. to feed the pigeons one last time.. and we were a little dissapointed because they were kind of rough this time... and pooey.. then we went INSIDE the san marco basillica.. which was soo beautiful as well...
ahh... and THEN... we came home and got ready for the first time in forever it seems and wore our skirts and what not.. because katharine's parents..(thank you soo much by the way) bought us an awesome dinner
at a cute little place in venice.. funny thing.. the first place we chose.. we sat down and the waiter was sooo rude to us and the glasses and the chairs were dirty... that we walked out...and found a better place... and it was soo goood! then we were tired.. so went to bed.. thats a lie.. we went and got gellati.. and then went to bed...
OKAY soo now.. today... haha we woke up and caught our train at about 10 and arrived in MILAN at... 1.. ish.. found our hotel which is acctually quite nice... very easily...and unpacked our stuff.. ahhaa but its very weird because the washroom is built right into the room.. and instead of a toilet.. its one of those gross buray.. buree..?? oh.. buday! i dont even know what they are called toilets.. and we hate it. but laughed for at least an hour at it.. before we found another bathroom in the hall.. THEN we took the subway back to the downtown area and was blown away.. i had no idea milan was this beautiful..
and we went to go see the famous leonardo da vinci painting but it was booked for the next two days straight! soo we were super bummed about that..
also.. we found another basillica that blows all the other basillica's we have seen out of the water... it was amazing and huge.. and soo detailed..
think of your favorite basillica.. and times it by a million.
then... we.. totally caved in a had mcdonalds... which sucks but it was really good... it cost us almost 10 euros.. haha stupid.. but worth it..
we walked down the huge shopping area and wanted to buy so many things.. but didnt.. instead we hoped to see a celebrity.. finally we came home and went to buy groceries.. and it was super packed so we were in there for at least an hour.. and we were soo hot and angry that we were laughing... then we realized our laundry needed to be done BADLY so we found a laundry mat and
spent 6 euros trying to figure out the machines.. in the end.. our clothes are still damp and hanging in our room.. hHAHAHAHHAH
free internet though.. and free breakfast in the morning! sweet!
we get a taxi here at 5:30 in the morning.. we take a train to ancona.. then a ferry all the way to GREECE!!!! soo i wont be able to update for a couple days!!!! wish us luck!!! we miss you all!!! and i will try and get katharine to update hers.. haha..
