Okay so lets start by saying that Venice is amazing, hence my need to split it in to 2 entries. Arrived late after a very long drive.... checked in to the hotel and then headed for dinner. Had a quiet meal in an inner city hotel (hmm some highlight dinner Trafalgar) but afterwards headed out with 5 others to explore Venice by night. Venice is made up of 180 islands and a huge number of bridges. We caugh the Ferry down to the Rialto bridge and took some pics (amazing) then wandered the back streets down to St Marcs square. Was beautiful by night with siome live music, soft lighting and a very relaxed aptmosphere, not too many people around which made it even better. Walked down to the Bridge iof Sighs (cant believe what they have done to it) and then back to the Ferry for a late night cruise back to the bus. Caught the midnight bus back to our Hotel thanks to Mel being able to speak Italian. Definitely a highlight of the trip thus far.
