Santa Maria del Fiore and Duomo

Awesome tourist day for us. We visited the Santa Maria del Fiore. We also climbed the 436 stairs to the top of the Duomo. There are about 50 small steps to our apartment. So after 1 1/2 weeks, we thought we would be ready for the Duomo climb. We had a little shortness of breath, but the view from the top was absolutely worth it. David said he could stay up there all day We went at about noon, however I did see a crowd up there at sunset. That must be very nice as well. Going up was hard on the legs. Coming down was a tight spiral staircase, it was tough on the mind.

It was such a treat to go up. We are getting a little home sick, so this was very fun today.
