horned moses
at st. peter in chains Keri, Sarah, and I are leaving for Munich tonight so i figured i should update before i have too much to write about. This past weekend, almost everyone went out of town except for a couple of us. Keri and i went around to do some stuff we've been meaning to do but havent' yet around rome. We found the gelato place near the pantheon that's supposed to be the best in town or something. it was soo good. best flavors ever. esp honey almond. yum. we also went down to do some window shopping at the galleria because they had christmas decorations up and we got excited. inside, they had huge harry potter posters adn these displays that were all covered up and so we didnt get to see them. We found out from ryan later that they opened them up about a half hour after we left adn it was the props and costumes from the movie and we missed it! arg. so close. but the next day we met up with james melnick who took us to the bone church where the crypts are completely covered withe the bones of 4000 monks. cool and creepy. On tuesday we
finally got to go to the vatican museums with Emilio and we saw the laocoon adn the sistine chapel. i got in trouble in teh chapel because i stole some pictures of it. people all around me were holding their cameras up to their faces and even using flash and no one said anything to them. i hid my camera by my hip and was surrounded by people and the guard comes up to me and gets really snappy with me and says to put it up and that was the last one. what a jerk. but it was really cool to see, even though the chapel itself was a lot smaller than i had imagined. and it was soo packed with people and it was kind of hot because of all the people. when we went to see the laocoon, i was taking lots and lots of pictures because i love it, but then i turned around and i had lost the group. i need to stop doing that. i eventually found them again, but no one had even noticed i was gone! jeez. samantha's wedding is this thursday, but a lot of people are going out of town

if we'd only stayed a couple more minutes... (or the country) for the long weekend, so we had her party that night. we went to hard rock cafe for some american food, and eventually we tied all the balloons to her with messages on them. she even made it home with all of them still attached. luckily the bus we took was pretty much empty. i'm kind of sad i'm going to miss her wedding, and when we get back from munich, samantha will already be gone, and i wont get to meet justin because he comes in tonight after we've already left. but i'm really excited about munich. and i will write more when i come back.
