This morning we headed down to the Marina Piccolo to catch the jet boat to Capri. It was quite windy today and the trip was relatively rough. Sitting in the passenger area was fine, but at one point I needed to use the bathroom which was down below. I literally couldn't walk along without holding on – it was slightly scary, but fun at the same time.

After arriving in Capri we hailed a taxi to take us up to the Piazetta in Capri town. We stopped for a coffee and a spot of people watching before walking to Giardino di Augusto for a look at the spectacular views. We then returned to the Piazetta and grabbed another cab up to Ana Capri. We decided to have lunch up there as people on the Tripadvisor forum had commented how much cheaper it was than Capri town. While that might have been true, there was very little to choose from so I was a little sorry we hadn't eaten in the Piazetta or somewhere else. Still we had some passable burgers to fill us up before the chairlift ride to Monte Solaro.

The chairlift was amazing, I would have

preferred to have been able to sit next to G. rather than alone, but they were all single gondolas that didn't feel at all secure. Still the views were amazing so that took my mind off of the trip slightly. Once at the top you can walk around and see the spectacular views. There is also a restaurant/bar complex and toilets so we had an enjoyable break and took lots of photos. The views are really amazing, the entire Isle of Capri, the Amalfi Coast. Totally beautiful.

After the chairlift back down we hailed one of the open topped taxis to take us back down to the Marina. We did a little shopping and stopped in another café for a glass of wine and snacks before catching the ferry back. We had yet more spectacular views of the town of Sorrento from the top deck of the ferry.

After such a long day we didn't feel like going out so decided to eat at Bellevue Syrene again. As the weather was changing for the worse, and still fairly windy, they had shut the outdoor La Pergola restaurant. This meant we dined in their other restaurant Mimmo Jodice, which is where breakfast

was also served on mornings too cool to eat out on the terrace. We ate Wild Boar Pasta, Fillet Steak with new potatoes and Chocolate Fondant. I have to say that the steak was the best cooked steak I have ever eaten. Perfectly tender, perfectly pink and perfectly delicious.
