Day Trip to Achill Island

We took a day trip to Achill Island today. We have decided that i will do all of the driving and that Karen would do the navigating. I am still getting used to driving in Ireland. The on-coming buses and trucks are scaring me to death because the roads are so narrow and the speed limits do not make sense - 100 kms/hr through residential areas of towns and villages!?

We packed a lunch and had it on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere - sheep, cows and stone fences everywhere - beautiful. We explored the deserted village ruins at Slieve More on Achill - eerie and fascinating.
