COLD
It was frosty all over this morning Day 8
So. VERY Busy day. It started at about 6:45 am when I meant to get up and go to the reserves at the library and read a novel of 270 pages before my class at 5pm this afternoon. Didn't even move until close to 7:30. Still made it early to maybe glance through it, but could NOT figure out the shelving system. But I was able to at least register myself into the computer system on campus and receive my 10 euro credit for printing. Got to my geography classroom early and sat in the quiet for a while and ate an orange- it was really relaxing actually.
Geography is officially the most BORING class ever. I do sound like a 13 year old junior high student, but this is SO dull. The only reason I think I'll stay is only 2 projects, no tutorials (like mini class sessions) and no final exam...ugh. If I can stay awake for the total 110 mins during the week I take the class. I know my eyes were open but I sincerely do not remember one thing. So I don't know...I really don't want to stay. But due to the
FUDGE
OMGOSH so much fudge fact I cannot find classes to replace TWO classes that are no longer offered (though I pre-reg before I came) I have to find other classes to fill in my time. Ugh. Oh yes, so due to that bad news with the two classes, I might be at UTA for ONE MORE SEMESTER ARGH! I like UTA well enough, but I was really looking forward to being DONE before my 22nd birthday 😞
Oh well, won't linger on that too long. I had a good day really. Went to Sociology, my professor is a communist, seriously she said, "I'm all for the people to rally against the government and change!"....I still like her. And God still loves her 😊
Went to lunch with a guy I met named Matt who is from PA but is moving to TX for teaching. We've swapped info so I can give him tips and what not while he's in TX since he's never been! WOOT A NEW TEXAN STAR IS BORN :D I really do love Texas.
Also ate with Meghan and Erin 😊 they're cool and really sweet girls. Really all the girls with AIFS are.
Went to the
really?
Interesting, yes?o library hoping to get the reserved book for a few hours before 5. I get there at 1 they tell me it's a special reserve book and that area would be closed from 1-215....so time to kill.
Went to the farmer's market with Erin which was really fun. Met a guy who makes fudge and he talked to us for about 15 mins about fudge and his business. It was really neat! 😊 Had no money for it but he gave free samples- tripe chocolate with caramel filling. Need I say more?
After that it was still only 1:30. So we went to the main plaza (or so I will call it) and sat outside- beautiful day- I even got warm in my coat and scarf with the sun out! Erin and a few other people who came up to us went inside the main building and had dance and music and I headed back to the library. 2:15 finally came and I got there I had to fill out 2 sheets of paper, leave my coat, and bag with the woman and she put it in a cubby, asked if I needed my notebook and a pencil.
I took my notebook out and she gave me one of "their" pencils... I went through a coded door and was assigned a seat with sponge pads about 8 inches thick that opened up like a book. She went into another locked room and came back with the book and placed it on the sponge and asked I'd keep the book on the sponge. I did and for the next 2 hours I read and read and read. I genuinely read the first 100+ pages within an hour but had to skip and skim until about page 230-50 and finished it out on 270 by 4:18. It was actually nice because there was only 2 other people working in there the whole time so it was VERY quiet. It was actually nice 😊 No distractions or anything. I want to know if I can just go there to read anything. BUt it was weird. The book wasn't ancient text, it was 2006 copyright lol. Oh well.
I had to go back to my place to write an email...that I now need to retract and sprinted back to campus by 4:50 and found my class- which was actually quite challenging
to find! The sequence of room numbers when B19 B18 B17 B16... B14....I was like WHAT!? Where is B15 😞 Of course...across a catwalk perpendicular to the hallway of B19...that makes sense. But I'd rather make dollars than sense...(read that last bit aloud hehe)
After class I went to the Stables Bus stop (the stables is the local bar on campus...yes, convenient) waited for my crew of people to come since we all had back to back appointments for the immigration office. Left at 6:30 and just made it at about 6:55 for the three of seven of us to have our 7pm appointments. It was easy enough. Two at a time went in (Me and Stephanie first) gave them all the paper work, gave them our finger prints, and a picture, got a "green card" haha- no just a little card with our picture and that's it. Afterwards we all laughed about the fact with this new ID card, some of us have up to 6 forms of photo ID for this trip...just in case any of us forget who we are.
We went back to the bus and rode it home all starving, got off and
went to Spar's the convenient store right next to our Village- it's so awesome. We all got munchies, in my case a sandwich, crisps, and 2 liter water. We all walked back and I got a snickers bar from Amanda's room- thank you!- and went back to my room. Oh yes- I have my other female roomie- Donna- super sweet chick. Music major, and I said earlier Carrie is a equine major? It's freshman year all over- Ellen and Channah! <3 you forever.
Anyways, ate downstairs and hung with my roomies Allen and the guy I am not sure what I am supposed to cal him but he plays weird techno/mix music...very odd. Carrie and Donna 😊 Watched FRiends and Desperate Housewives...two shows I NEVER EVER EVER WATCH! I enjoyed it heh.
Chris came in for a bit but didn't stay long. It's Tuesday afte rall- drinking night, but no one else was up for it which was fine for me.
One by one though each roommate fell to bed EARLY for these Irish too. Heh, oh well. Again I'm all fine for quiet roomies, though a house party is in order according to...the boy who listens
to weird mix/techno lol-
They're all cool though and make fun of my "y'all." 😊 Saw pictures of Carrie's horses- JEALOUS! But it's cool 😊
Came up took shower and now I am going to bed.

your classes sound a little messed up, don't they? is that fairly standard for uni or is it just the Irish not getting their act together? it doesn't seem fair that you could end up spending more time at uni because of this. oh well, it's still an experience and it'll something to look back on with a strange sort of fondness in years to come lol. *hugs*
