Phil arrived quite promptly, loaded us up and took us to the airport. Lovely ride, with more news from Phil--he'll be heading to Thailand in a few days (where he had lived for several years) to divest himself of a business he'd owned there!
Had plenty of time at the IOM airport to eat the delicious meal Fiona had packed us (since we were leaving before breakfast time) and find a way to spend our last British pounds. Flight back to Dublin was lovely. Since we're flying back to the US tomorrow, we really didn't want to cart all our luggage into Dublin (especially anticipating another 4 floors up at Trinity...) but since we weren't ticketed through, they couldn't check it all in from IOM. When we got to Dublin, we began asking first chance we got for somewhere to leave it. After Immigration, we claimed our baggage and the Aer Lingus agent told us where "Left Luggage" was--over in Terminal 1, a walk but a clear one, where we could check our luggage overnight. We had packed so we could leave everything but my back pack and we were able to do so. Whew!! Made the trip in and

very clever stand held pot for boiling water, tea bags, coffee press, all the condiments, and room for a phone to be charging!! out of the city much easier, too.
Bought an AirExpress two-way ticket into the city (we knew to take Route 747 to and from) and were there in no time and knew where we were! We were thirsty, walked towards Nassau St., which we knew a bit, and found a bar (Ferguson's?) for a drink (Harp for me) and chat with the lovely hostess. Headed over to Trinity and we were just in time to check in to Trinity, drop off our bag, do a bit more shopping at the Book of Kells shop which is just there on campus (which i remembered was a good one), and head out to wander Temple Bar, heading back to the Bull & Castle Restaurant. Stopped at the Palace Bar somewhere in there--beautiful wood and stained glass, as many of them are.
Temple Bar was quite different on a Wednesday evening than it had been the previous Friday! No surprise there, really. The flowers in the boxes and hanging from several levels were gorgeous! Mike wanted to stop at the Czech Inn which he'd noted the week before and I wanted a picture of the Oscar Wilde Gutter Bookstore for a

This is before security. We arrived with plenty of time to eat the wonderful meal Fiona sent with us as we missed breakfast at the Farm this morning. Also tried to spend the last of our pounds (had to buy more Pringles!). Of course, that left me short when I wanted a bottle of water after Security but no loss. friend. The Czech Inn was all reserved for the evening (bus tour, we guessed) but they sold us a beer to drink out front which was good for people-watching and I got my pictures a couple blocks later.
Found the Bull & Castle and had a great dinner. Mike got to try bone marrow which he's seen prepared several times; it's one of those things that you want to have prepared by someone who knows what they're doing the first time, definitely don't do yourself and have any idea if it's good. We each had a great steak, veggies, and, surprise! chips. Lovely end of the vacation!
It was quite warm and humid for Dublin. No air conditioning anywhere, of course, so we managed to get the bedroom window open from the top (locked at the bottom!) for some fresh air. Yes, I closed it before we left in the morning.
Another 5 miles walked today!
