Woke up with a hangover and felt ordinary but pushed through the pain barrier. We walked into the City Centre of Grafton Street to shop for souvenirs. Purchased some amazing little gifts for the girls, family and I. The walk back to the apartment seemed to go forever..... finally arrived home and had a sleep for 3 hours, had to go back out tonight with Jase, so needed the rest. Went to a local Catholic Church around the corner called St Patrick’s, this was an experience, to take communion in Dublin. The Father of the church was great, he was very entertaining and the inside of the church was beautiful. Got back home and Jase was ready to out on the town, we walked up and got a taxi into Temple Bar Alley. This was great, got to have my first Guinness with Jase at a pub called the Hairy Lemon and yes the beer was silky and smooth and tasted sensational. Jase & I walked the streets looking for a Tapas bar, we nearly gave up the hope of finding one but just as we said this we walked around a corner and their one was. This place was called Bar Pintxo a Tapas & Wine Bar. We sat down & ordered 7 tapas to share & a bottle of Spanish white wine called Orchide 08 - Sur lies. The food was a taste sensation, lots of flavour and very tasty. Finally finished dinner around 12pm, time to check out the local pubs. The manager of the Tapas bar, Alastair told us to go to a pub down on the corner called The Porterhouse. This pub served its own brewed beer and many types of it, so away we go to have more beers. We had a red bull and vodka first to keep us going for the night and then ordered an Oyster Beer, yes very nice tasting ale. Walked upstairs and a fabulous band were playing, they were called Rock Tribunal, the front man was 62 years of age, named Patrick, and he rocked. Stayed and danced and drank with Jase for awhile. Next stop was Gogarty’s Pub; this place was very much so going off. Jase & I got to meet a few locals & talked to everyone around us, had a ride on someone’s shoulders, seemed very tall at that point. Around 3am left Gogarty’s & decided it was about time we got back to our apartment to sleep, first of all went to Macca’s for an early morning burger, may have not been the right move to have............but it was the most amazing night out in Dublin with Mark’s best friend Jase, this night I will treasure forever, thanks Jase xx
