St Kevin's Monastary
St. Kevin's Monastery, Glendalough September 21st

(by Terrie)The ancient and hallowed grounds of the monastery & cemetery of St. Kevin's was stunning. Amidst Celtic High Crosses and time-warn tombstones, whose beloved inscriptions have eroded with passage & centuries, stands the monastery pure & true. The architecture of the abby speaks of a time before windows and of a time before gothic arches. Its humble and precise masonry yields and enduring testament to medieval life. It's easy to imagine the human experiences had in this place; with the pristine greenery of tree & moss, the subtle echo of brook and bluejay, the vivid green pastures speckled with sheep. . .
perhaps some things really don't change that much with the passage of time, except perhaps, for windows.

Mystic Travellers
Hello Ms. Lettie, Becky, Terri and Kim~ It's wonderful to read, feel and sense so much about your journey. Terri - How lovely your crafted words to describe the Monestary and its period. I felt like I was standing right there. ... no windows.... I miss you all very much.... but that's wonderfully overridden by the excitement and purpose .... and just knowing what it must be like for Ireland to have you there .... as for you to be there. I love you all and my heart lifts with joy everytime I read or think of you. Not a day passes......

Very Spiritual
My wife and I were in Ireland in 2003. When we were in Dublin at the Brazen Head pub, a local named John told us about Glendalough, describing it as a spiritual experience, he was absolutely right. Make it part of your itinerary and you will not be disappointed.

Paz, I have been unavailble for a bit and just now received your query. If still interested in this information, i can tell you that I do not offer this experience in Ireland. I took several of my students there to allow them opportunites to develop their own wisdom and knowing outside of their normal environments and comfort zones. It was sacred not because of the monastery or even the grounds, but because it is a powerfully enhancing place for deep introspection and change. It seems to me that you are seeking a spiritual moment that could lead you somewhere - down a particular path with something enlightening at the end. I am no longer doing this kind of sharing of myself, but i hope that your needs are met otherwise. If i can be of further assistance let me know. Otherwise, may you journey well. Lettie Lettie
