St Patricks day is today, incase anyone forgot, and im sure nobody did because this whole campus is covered by hung over/drunk students wearing green. We watch boondock saints, play irish drinking games, and see shamrocks everywhere. When I signed online today google popped up and I noticed that instead of the usual blue red and yellow google font, it was "google" was written in shamrocks. Because of the commercialization of holidays we lose the true meaning of them. Technology such as the internet has made the day of rememberance for St. Patrick a green drinking day. The same thing happens with holidays such as christmas, mothers day, and valentines day. I'm pretty sure mothers day is a holiday made up by hallmark to make money, along with valentines day. Technology makes so much advertizement and pointless merchandise avaliable.
