Mr Right hand drive
We arrive in Dublin to a very cool and overcast day! 12C. Quick processing through custom with a delightful agent who set a fabulously friendly tone for our time here. We opted for a GPS unit with the rental car as Trev's memory of streets etc is very faint.

Off we go to Trev's uncle & aunt's house. 37 year old memory was accurate and he remembered their address! Wonderful warm welcome and great 4 hour walk down memory lane.

Plugged in the address for our stop in Cork and promptly disagreed with the GPS. We knew we were heading south and it told us to go on M50 north!! So our disagreement resulted in a 2 hour trip taking 3.5 hours and a wonderful, if somewhat longer, drive down the east coast of souther Ireland 😊 Oops, poor old Geoffry was starving by the time we got their. Wife Dawn and son Gavin greeted us with warmth and hospitality.

First evening was spent with the fellas remembering younger days. I knew Trev had a wilder side but my goodness, those 2 got up to some mischief as young lads!! Monday morning Geoff made a great breakfast including

black & white pudding (DON'T ASK- google it!!), rashers, cereal and coffee. We took off for downtown Cork and roamed the streets enjoying the different feel of a European city. We picked up Dawn and head for the Jameson whiskey distillery! Impressive place. Lots of history dating back to the 1700's.

The afternoon was spent in Kinsale, a quaint lively village about 30 minutes from Cork. Geoffry insisted that a "real" pint of Guiness was required! Not for this gal but Trev was game. On the way back we had to stop at KC restaurant for authentic fish and chips. The cod was beautifully battered and tasty.

Our time here was short but the laughter was plenty, the teasing and ribbing none stop with Dawn and I both picking on Geoffry while trying to keep him in line. So glad to meet all these family members!

Cork the "Real" Capital
Great to see you both, pity your time was so short, so much more to see and do in Cork, as for the stories I was only getting warmed up, hope the rest of your stay is not a anticlimax,!! Come again PS you forgot to mention the sausages,!

What....aren't those rashers? I'm confused with this lingo. Thanks so much for you hospitality. We had so much fun and enjoyed our time. Don't forget to book your tickets to North America soon.
