Iceland blew my mind. Words don't really do it justice, so I'll just put up loads of pictures... (Umesh will be pleased about that...) Highlights for me were : every hike, every park, every protected area but especially Landmannalauger, and a ride to the bus station in Bjork's mum's car (though she wasn't driving)! And Skyr! Yum. a truly magical glacial lagoon at the foot of Vatnajökull glacier. You may recognise this scene from such films as Tomb Raider and two James Bond movies.

Laki Craters

Looking at Laki's two volcanic craters. There was a cataclysmic eruption here in the 1800s that killed 1/5 of Iceland's population either directly or later through poisonous gases and caused crop failure as far away as Japan and Alaska. Very beautiful colours from purple to green. I blended in nicely.
