Day 100: Split - Budapest - Athens

Today was an extremely longgg day! We were up at 7 to have breakie and get our stuff sorted and get off the boat just after 8. After saying goodbye to people we headed to a cafe with 2 of the girls from our tour who were on our same flight to Athens. We had a coffee and killed some time before catching the bus to the airport. We jumped on our flight to Budapest which took all of 1 hour! Seemed like 5 mins compared to our other flights on this trip! And arrived at Budapest about 4.30. We found an air conditioned lil area with hard chairs and one food place and hung there for about 3 hours and then decided to go through to the gate, only to find a mammoth mall type thing on the other side!!! Shops, food, wifi in a lounge for free! It was amazing! If only we had known 3 hours earlier...but we did still have 4 more hours on stopover to kill! So, we caught up on blogs, applied for jobs, played cards and hung out till our flight. unfortunately we couldnt leave the airport so didnt get to see any of Budapest - which we get told is lovely! Next time! 😊

We arrived into Athens after a 2 hour flight at 2.15am and had to say a sad goodbye to Mel and Keets who were staying in a diff hostel for the night and doing a diff greek island tour to us. We got directions and missioned our way to our hostel in the dark and got there at 4am!!

We ha da slight mini drama when arriving as for some reason we had made 2 reservations for tonight, one for the 12th and none for the 15th. When we actually booked one for each! So we paid for one for tonight and the 12th and the guy said he would sort it our in the morning. he was really friendly. Crawled into bed very tired and very late to sleep a few hours before check out at 10.30!
