Greece is different!

Got to Athens. which isnt the cleanest place. and alot of buildings are out of use. i dont know what i was expecting but something a little different obviously.
SIgned into pagration youth hostel and met up with jess and jessie. got a bite to eat then had a siesta. When i awoke we walked into town.
On this walk we saw the temple of zeus. Athens Gate then headed on over to the new acropolis museum. it was really interesting and might have reignited some of my passion for archaeology. very cool. we saw the acropolis from a distance and then bought some bread and dips 2 euro each for dinner and sat in the park.

2nd day woke up at 5am and ventured onto the streets. we had decided to catch a taxi intead of bus metro bus. but no taxi would stop for us. one eventually did! which was great as we didnt want to miss our ferry. The ferry was about 5 hours. and we were on the roof. it was inclosed and EVERYONE was smoking. BLARGH. i loathe the person who introduced cigarrettes to this world and europe for smoking so bloody much of them.!
Got to mykanos. and found some accomodation which is a HOLE! no electricity. mesh roof with sticks and the tiolets dont have seats
Walked around mykanos town which is lovely. little stond roads with white buildings and blue shutters. Saw little Venice. The windmills. Took some awesome photos. and had gyros for dinner. souvlaki but with chips in it! Very nice 😊
This is the dreaded night i LOST my camera. I rang home. cried to dad who told me to forget about it so im trying! its not that easy !!
Yesterday was spent at paradise beach for 6 hours. just laying around and chilling. very nice!

that is all for now. We are trying to book the next few islands as we dont want to be left with dodge ass accomodation so we will get in early 😊 Met some nice aussies at the beach yesterday but aussies arent hard to find in these parts. 😊
hope all is well at home

It's all so exciting. Pleased to hear you are finding enjoyable food for a good price. Dodgy accommodation makes for memorable experiences I guess but i hope you don't cop too much. Lots of love Mum x

G'day
Hi Eliza, wonderful to be able to read what you're up to. Sorry to hear you lost the camera but you know sometimes camera's can be a bit of a drag when holidaying as you always think you should have it out taking photos and it can distract you from just enjoying the moment. And if your friends have one then at least you can get copies of their shots down the track? Been to Aunty Lynne's this arvo for Tom's birthday and had a seniors moment where I was wondering if you would turn up, doh! Hope the standard of accomodation has improved for you, lots of love xox
