Kefalonia was a beautiful island offering a good and varied week for us. Would definately recommend hiring a car and driving the circular route, stopping at beach resorts, quaint villages, and the traditional tourist attractions. Avoid driving in the rain though ... the roads get very slippery and after the car span ... we were very lucky to not have dropped down the cliff face and ended up ... well lets just say ... was a tad scary. This aside, really nice island to visit and would definately recommend it. We stayed at Skala Beach, which was a good location.

south of Sami is this large stalagmatic cavern of rare beauty, estimated to be 150 million years old. It is also known as 'Concert Cave', due to its large chamber found in 150 feet below ground level that has exceptionally good acoustics and room for 500 people.
