It's challenging to summarize a whole month on this lovely island into a brief blog, but here are the highlights for me:
1. Staying at Spiti Charlie - lovely Venetian style villa, built 1860. 10 of us shared the 6-bedroom house during the month of May. 2. Great weather: not too hot, but lots of sun3. Day trip around the perimeter of the island aboard the Isabella, lovely wooden sailboat belonging to the owner. We stopped a couple of times to swim.4. Coffee, lunches, and dinners at local restaurants. Great seafood; fresh vegetables and fruits.5. Local markets6. Happy hour on our patio, overlooking the sea7. Watching sunrises from our patio-- 6 am onwards8. Great dinner parties inside and outside9. Playing ukuleles (3 of us) in the pergola, on the patio, inside by the fireplace, as well as on the ferry dock to meet and say good-bye to our travel mates (and even in a local bar and restaurant).10. Admiring the painted ceilings of our house, from many different sitting/lying spots11. Exploring the many little paths and narrow roadways with their walls, doors, and overhanging flowers.12. 2 excellent museums, full of historical items, some from ships that sank BCE!13. Renting electric bikes with R, L, and L to ride around the periphery of Spetses (about 25 km over narrow, winding, hilly roads). 14. Meeting a variety of interesting people from on and off this island
