We cycled 10 miles along the River Lahn while it wound along its forested valley through several small towns and villages. It was some of the most attractive cycling we have done on this trip. The only downside came as a bit of a surprise as we were used to flat country riding beside rivers. On this occasion we had to climb a couple of hills, firstly to the church and monastery of Kloster Arnstein and then to the castle above the village of Laurenburg. However we were rewarded with great views on both occasions.
