15 June 2016 For the last stage of our journey down the Mosel we drove to Koblenz, a city at its confluence with the Rhine. We stayed at a campsite on the banks of the Rhine.
With Roy’s company the afternoon was spent taking a cable car trip up to the fortress, Festung Ehrenbreitstein built by the Prussians in the 19
th century after Napoleon had levelled it. This was followed by a stroll around the streets and churches of the Altstadt.
As this was our last night together we all sat around in the gathering gloom reminiscing about an excellent Murvi Club expedition.
