Walking in the Harz Mountains

We went on a very pleasant 11k walk from Bad Harzburg up into the Harz National Park. On the way we passed the top of the cable car from the town at Burgberg; a large hill top cross called Kruez des Deutschen which was erected in 1950, destroyed in a storm in 1998 and replaced in 2000; and a restaurant in a scenic location called Rabenklippe where we had our lunch
