OCTOBERFEST!!!!!
what a massive 5 days...
So Jewels and I hired a car from Berlin and drove down the freeway toward munich, it was much cheaper than getting the traion and a room to stay, so we just got a car and drove down nearer to Munich and slept in the car for the night...we stopped off at a little town called Bamburg, we had dinner there and got soo completely lost, but we did manage to get out of there after a while....and a few random fellas at the servo telling us in german where to go, but we got on the freeway in teh end
so we cruised along the 120km an hour freeway and were loving it...actually i was nervous, i set the cruise control to 110, what im used to back home, he he
So we got to near Munich and stopped the car and had a sleep, which was quite good considering, if you can sleep in a bus in loas, you can sleep in a stationary car, and we were right next to a service station with a toilet, which was definately handy.
So we went and dropped off the car in the morning and
then headed to the Thalkirchen camping ground, it was massive and soo totally full of Aussies...we settled into our little tent, showered and headed straight in to meet skip and steve at the Lowenbrau tent at the festival, which i didnt think was going to resemble the melbourne show at all, but it did...in a way i was lucky that i drank soo much otherwise i would of smashed those rides..he he! I am a little disapointed I didnt get on a ride.
So we met the boys and downed a few steins, it all ended with dancing on tables with germans and skip skulling a stien and heading home early, people everywhere, german and foreign and very very merry thats for sure..prost!!
So the first day was big, but we got up again on the second and back to the tents we went, jewels and I anyway, we ventured around and when skip and steve met us again we ended up at the Hoffbrau tent, the international tent, a massive skull, sleave fest and was definatly not our cup of tea, but there was no way of getting out, so we just had to deakl with it. The next
day I got to catch up with the lovely stace, and Brendy, loved seeing them, but made me a little jealous when they said they were heading home to Aus on Thursday...this is the night my bag got take from my feet....
we searched aroung the tent and found my bag, but nothing in it, i was soo shattered, wallet, camera, sunnies, iPod charger everything was gone, it was soo devastating, but luckily i had my phone in my pocket. The next day stace, Brendy and I went in early to get a table and I went a looked for my stuff agin, no where to be found.....
This was a massive day, ending with stace staying at the tent with her new german mates and brendy using the rides as a way top persue me to go....i didnt get a ride, but brendy got his kebab!!
Grand Final day, up at 4:30, and feeling a little under the weather, but a brilliant game and ey, i get to watch it again next week not feeling soo seedy. he he
The rest of the time in Munich was spent recovering, but it was freezing and raining, and still no bag....no
camera....
We left the campsite on Monday morning and headed to Salzburg in Austria, we got off the train and headed to maccas to use the toilet and I checked my emails to find that this german guy emailed me on facebook to say that he had found a money wallet and that hed bring it to me in munich, i was sooo excited but kicking myself that i didnt check my emails earlier that morning as i had just left there two hours ago...i wrote back and called him and asked in doubt but hopefull, if he also found a camera and sunnies, he said that he would call the station in munich to see if they had my camera and woooollahhh.......wallet and camera found. I could not believe my luck...amazing, so i jumped back on the train to munich, left jewels in Salzburg and met this random guy on the platform of the staion who delivered me my stolen goods...I was soo excited, i couldnt believe my luck! lucky as!..
So thats the best story i have yet of the trip.. he he
We are now in the town of Linz in Austria, heading to Vienna tomorrow and
then Prague after the rematch of the grand final, depending on the win maybe, I hope everyone is well, i miss you all!!
London and the job search begins next Thursday...
love you all.
