Berlin, Germany Day 2

Wow, Brandi and I have not worked this hard during our whole vacation. We somehow managed to cover 6 museums/sites today. We began by getting breakfast at a little sandwich shop at the grocery store next door. We ate for only 5.70 euro...total! (turkey sandwich, crousant, two coffees) Berlin really is turning out to be much more reasonable price-wise than any other city, though the city is not as condensed as the others. In other words, it's a bit of a hike to get anywhere so the metro passes we bought will come in handy.

Then we tackled the Neues Museum (Egyptian), Pergamonmuseum (Classical antiquities), Bode Museum (Sculpture/Byzantine), Altes Museum (Classical antiquities), Check Point Charlie (Checkpoint b/t American occupied Berlin and Russian occupied Berlin), and the Typographie of Terror Museum (History of the rise of Nazi Party and atrocities committed). Very eventful day putting our Berlin Museum passes to work. Each museum was awesome, though we only made it through half of the Typographie of Terror before it closed (okay, Brandi made it through, but I was reading all of the info they have)...absolutely will have to go back. The photos and stories there are absolutely amazing. All the museums today allowed photos to be taken, so we have quite a few.

Also new today, we tried the popular snack called "curry-worst". Yes, I know...doesn't sound so great, but it's superb snack/bar food. It's sausage of some kind with curry-ketchup poored over it. Yum, I'm I fan. Yes indeed, we're liking this city thus far, though we are truly exhausted and are having trouble finding the energy to keep pressing on. Neither of us can sleep enough each night...we are usually awakened by the maid. 8-10 hours of walking each day since 9/4 has finally caught up with us I think, but we'll manage...I hope.
