Me and Katrina
After she just finished her game Leaving Ljubljana on a train bound for nowhere I met with the gambler we were both too tired to sleep... ah crap my mind wandered off to the strains of Kenny Rogers. What I meant to say was a train bound for Munich.
So the Munich direct train didn't all go as planned. We ended up stopping at a station for an hour as something was wrong with the train. We then made our way into Austria before we were told that we had to get off and get another train for Salzburg an hour later. Although I didn't understand, just the lovely German girl in my carriage who interpreted for me and told me which platform we had to move to. After lunch at the train station watching the World Alpine Skiing Championships on tv, we were on the train again, travelling through the beautiful Austrian alps. Absolutely amazing, I think I could just travel through Austria and Switzerland constantly amazed at the scenery, in fact the German girl asked me whether Australia had any mountains at all, due to my constant amazement at what we were passing through, so I told who were really don't. At Salzburg the

Katrina hitting a shot train to Munich was not waiting and we had to get an S-bahn to Freilising and then a train to Munich. After about 9 hours travelling we arrived and I met my cousin Katrina at the station platform.
We headed off from Munich back to Wasserburg, where Katrina is living. A little lost getting out of Munich, but we got there and to Wasserburg which is about 40 minutes south east of Munich. Just crashed out for the night and caught up on things.
The next morning we were up bright and early for the team bus that was taking us to the game they were playing that day. I met most of Katrina's teammates and they were really cool in welcoming me onboard. It was about 6 hours to the venue, a place called Marberg (I originally thought it was Mucberg, and thought there really must be great blokes with great dross there!), and I was going to be an honarary Wasserburger fan for the day. It was a pretty high intense and physical game, especially with Katrina's teammate Wanda (I think she has 3 WNBA championships), anyway she had arms I would be extremely proud to

Katrina hitting a 3 call my own.
The fans were basically full of kids and it was so noisy, but not just from the kids!!! They handed out these horns, which were basically just annoying after 5 seconds, and I am pretty confident that there is no age limit of blowing them as everyone seemed to be, even grandfathers and grandmothers! They were very supportive of their home team, and even Wasserburg had a few fans who made the long journey just to watch the game. Wasserburg won pretty comfortably in the end, 84 to 67, and Katrina top scored with 30 points and was clearly MVP, I was told I could visit anytime if she was going to play like that. We got some free beer and pretzels to typify our time as being in Germany, and headed back to Wasserburg, getting in at around about 1 o'clock in the morning.
The following day we headed off to a town called Bad Tolz, about an hour south west from Wasserburg. A really pretty town and typical Bavarian, the drive there was fantastic as we were heading towards the Alps, and luckily managed to evade a police car. We wandered the

Before play with my Wasserburg scarf for support streets before lunch at a typical Bavarian restaurant, where we guessed our food and drunk some beers. After this we wandered around some more up to the church on top of the hill for some great views of the Alps. Then we decided on a well known (in the area) swimming centre, called Alpamare. Now this place was fairly expensive but so well worth it!!! We wandered in and there was a communal solarium which we utilised first then great massive water slides!!!! Ah yes, just like being a kid again!!! In fact I am pretty sure I was saying to Katrina '' ... did you see me on that one??? How fast was I going?? Oh I am going again!!'' ... just like being a kid again!!!! I loved it.
From there we utilised the wave pool they had and then some outdoor warm pools. As it was freezing cold outside these pools were heaven and with it spitting rain it was awesome. Each pool seemed to offer a different jet or something and we both agreed the spot where you could lay down in the water and get jet massaged was by far the best! I can't

Having to sign autographs after the game, with the scoreline. 84 to 67. think of a place like this in Australia, but there should be .. it was different to Wet and Wild. To finish off we had to head back to the water slides and it was so cool, even getting told off by the lifeguard ... ah bless the rebelliousness of getting told off on water slides when you are well into your 20s!
Back to Wasserburg for a few drinks and food, before the following day saying goodbye and getting on a train I hoped was going to Munchen and heading off once more from germany towards Switzerland!
