Christiane and I are flying to the States for 2 weeks in the sun and surf: Phoenix, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, San Diego, and the booming metropolis (hahahaha) of Sierra Vista, AZ.

Our flight begins on the 11th of March 2010 at the Frankfurt International Airport (duh, in Frankfurt). We are flying US Airways because, well lets just say I got a good price, but also the connections were good too.

The first leg of the flight is to Charlotte North Carolina with a 2-hour layover before our continuing flight to Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.

I made sure we didn't have to leave to early in the morning but also not too late, so I booked us leaving at 11:40 to arrive in CHA at 15:40 local time (Yes, I will use the 24-hour clock. Since it is used mostly here in Europe and I am used to it from my time in the Army, and it avoids confusion.

2 hours is bearable. Time for a beer or 2 and a bit to eat. CHA is a good airport from my recollection from 2005 when I had a 4 hour layover flying to Chicago. Lots of room to walk and not busy at all. We'll see how it works out.

More to come soon.
