Goerlitz Bahnhof Goerlitz Bahnhof Goerlitz Bahnhof

Saxon town, on Polish border, famous for its well preserved old city.
Train from Dresden to Cottbus, Brandenburg with stopover in Goerlitz on Polish border.

Have lunch in Goerlitz at a Polish restaurant, very good and inexpensive.

Train from Goerlitz to Cottbus is not a Deutsche Bundesbahn train, the only train service we have used or seen to date in Germany but the LausitzBahn, which is acutally operated by Connex, which operates trains in the UK. (There are plans to privatize D Bahn or German Rail in the coming year - it is Germany's last major state run company.

The area around Cottbus has a significant Slavic minority group, the Sorbs, which means many public signs are bilingual.

Cottbus does not have as large an old city as Goerlitz. This is a picture of a street near the train station (not part of the old city).
