Salzburg Castle
You can see this massive fortress from pretty much everywhere in Salzburg. G'day, much has happened since I last wrote. Currently I am in Tübingen while Kristian is making his was back from München, a 3 hour train journey. Puddy had spent the past 6 days there with Chelsea, a great girl we met while in Salzburg, and again took a visit to our favourite place: The mountain overlooking Neuschwanstein Castle. Its been a bit odd not seeing Kristian for 6 days after seeing him every day for 3 and a half months, when he gets here tonight it will be a bit weird to have a beer and a 'catch up', something we have not had to do so far.
Also I am now the proud inhabitant of my very own Apartment, unfortunately I don't have the address with me but I will post it soon. Kristian is still a bit unsure about exactly what he will do, but most likely will hang out here for a bit and see if he likes it. We have the apartment until mid- to late july depending on when we leave. This really is an amazing feat, to which we owe thanks to Anja for finding it for us. Amazing because next month when
the world cup starts there will not be a spare bed in the entire nation, all the hostels are booked and from what I have heard, charging double price. So to get a room in a small apartment at such a low price and for the exact amount of time we want it for is incredibe, truly. Its a 2 bedroom place, the other room being occupied by a forrestry student called Matthias who never seems to be home. Actually when I moved in, five minutes later the next door neighbour came bounding in, introduced himself and invited me around for a beer.
So the last week has been spent moving in and getting acquainted with the surroundings. On saturday night Anja and I went to huge student party (Tübingen is a student town, with 20,000 students so there are lots of student parties, often). It was massive, it was in some kind of converted warehouse, or something to that desciption, with many different levels and rooms. It was called the Full Moon Dance which may bring to mind images of the Enchantment Under The Sea Dance from Back To The Future, but it wasn't much like that. There
were hundreds and hundreds of people all over the place, and different DJ's in different rooms. In the main room the song that got one of the biggest crowd reactions was
Are You Gonna Be My Girl by Jet. It was such a great experience to see hundreds of Germans singing along word for word to this song, and then thinking back to seeing Jet play it live in the tiny Melbourne venue, Pony, in Little Lonsdale St, a few short years ago.
The next day, thoroughly hungover, Anja and I trekked to Heidenhiem to see her parents for Mothers Day. It took 3 hours and three different trains but we got there. On the was home that night we were so tired and couldnt wait to get back here to sleep for a long time. Then our train caught on fire. Okay, it was no blazing inferno but something in the engine in the carrriage behind had caught on fire, emmitting smoke and flames from an exhaust pipe on top of the carriage. Firemen arrived with breathing apparatus, as well as police and paramedics. While all this was going on we were well and trully missinng both of
Our Day Trip To Slovakia
All you can really do is smile our connecting trains. Finally we set off again and then had to wait another hour to get a train to where we wanted to go. Hell mission.
Now that I have a mailing address the first thing to do is somehow get a footy sent over here, perhaps via eBay. I think I can speak for the both of us when I say that our only real regret from this entire trip is not bringing a footy, what were we thinking! So many missed opputurnities. Speaking of things from home, Pam has kindly kept me informed about the Song for a Socceroo show, and the err...quality of the entries. The other day i checked on iTunes and they had the top 5 songs, and oh my god. My god. I just..I can't, the...How did the...umm...the..umm..i can't...umm...I'm not sure what the hell is going on. What? Not wanting to actually pay money for them I only listened to the 30 second samples, but I got the idea. Also I read about Rex Hunt, strange situation, but I'm sorry Rexie, not sure if 15 years can count as a "mistake", sorry buddy, that don't wash.
We would both like to

Hi Guys, Still keeping up the pace I see. Good to know you're staying the course and making the most of your time over there.
