So Sad - From: Thailand and The End
Well guys, I know your families are very glad that you're home now, but I will miss reading your entries from all your travels. It's been so entertaining and interesting to stay abreast of what you were doing and where you were going, and the writing has been excellent...a nice mix of human interest, history and culture...great photos, too. Too bad I didn't have the chance to invite you to our seaside hamlet in Oregon when you were on the west coast. We could have taken the boat out for dungeness crab and gathered mussels on the beach. I don't suppose you'll be this way again, but if so, look us up: www.bandon.com All the best to you now that you're back in the real world again. The transition will no doubt be difficult but I know you'll manage. :-) LindaLee

Hi guys. Kristian once told me that checking this thing for comments was full of anticipation like waiting for a gift. I see its been a while since it was updated or commented on but that you also check it every day so........hope you are enjoying thailand. Keep practicing the German John and Kristian, Canada says your welcome. Seriously, the whole country - I asked them all. The angry beaver crew misses you and you are welcome back any time. I promise not to hit you with a stuffed racoon or whatever that was. hahaha, oh hitchhiker lady.

Kristian........wow...what can we say? Those photos are outstanding! and by far that is your best blog to date. You have sure made some friends for life there. By the way have a very happy birthday, you missed out on birthday cake at Maccas with the family and opted to go white water rafting in the rapids somewhere in the Yukon (cant work that one out). Next Sunday i'll be on the water cruising around at a somewhat more sedate pace than you have been. I'll be cruising around Western Port at a liesurely six knots, nowhere in your league. My cruise will be rated negative class one. Unfortunately it'll be my 50th. Keep up the good work Pudd, keep having fun, and mum said to bring home a bison if it's not too much trouble. Ok cya, luv mum and dad

So much fun reading your notes (and fantastic photos!) from the great NorthWest....closer to my part of the planet, and thinking about the two of you traveling so easily from one part of the world to another. What an experience you're having! And Happy Belated Birthday!

Happy Birthday - From: The Great White North
Happy 25th Birthday Kristain, it certainly would be one you will remember. Loved reading about your experiences in the great white north of Canada. The photos are fantastic, I guess it is a photographers paradise in that part of the world. How are you and John ever going to settle down to an ordinary life again. It sounds as if you both have had a wonderful time, see you when you return. Love from Monica, John and Bede.

Spain!!!!!!!!!! - From: Spanien
Hello!!!! I will be heading off to Spain on 19 August and Barcelona is my last stop in Spain. But everyone has warned me that I should only take a couple of euros with me when going out. Whatever you do, don't think of the phone, wallet and camera, think of your swim in the ocean and who you were with. Everyone (well may be everyone) has done a swim at 4am in the morning and that's at home. Those materialistic things, well that's what it is, things. Anyway, take care and if you come to London before 18 August, give me a call. Erika

Hi pudd, yep i think you'd be kickin yer-self if you hadn't gone back to visit Chelsea, she looks absolutely gorgeous, and you two look like yer havin a really great time. The photos are fantastic and yes yer right,it's gonna take you for-ever to settle back into work ,i'm afraid that you'll be makin a fair few mistakes fer a while.Tell Chelsea's parents thanks for looking after our boy so well and if Chelsea ever found her way over then we woulld love to reciprocate.I have been enjoying watching Wimbledon pudd with my boy going swimmingly until to-day when he got beaten by Marcos Bagdadis, it's realy frustrating be-cos if Hewitt just played agressively like he does when he has his serve broken he'd be ok but he just has gotten into this habit of just gettin the ball back across the net and waiting for his opponent to make a mistake which might work ok until you get to the big guns and they just go for it , any way coach Payne over and out. Take care Yung man say hello to Chelsea. Luv Dad.

Oh Canada? - From: In German (Newspapers)
Hey John, I just had to say congratulations on becoming a published writer! Back when I first read that entry I found it interesting because I had the same discussion with my friend who lives in Ingolstatd. He lived in Canada for a year and upon his return home to Germany he made the same observation about "patriotism" there as compared to Canada, etc. So nicely done! We're taking good care of Kristian here - he has not been eaten by any wildlife as of yet and seems to be enjoying himself! Some golfing and camping (and ice skating!) are in the works. Take care and keep us updated with news from Germany.

Hi pudd an john its fantastic to hear from you two blokes on your blogs on the world cup, wot a fantastic shot of the aussie rules footy spiraling above the sky-line, i think you could sell that to the afl except that the footy looks round. Yeah and pudd i saw your car the other day drivin down racecourse rd although the it took me a few seconds at first to realise that it was your old timer and that the bloke drivin it looked like history in the world cup advertisements until i took another look and realised it was dease too late he'd go ne but i took a final look in the rear view mirror ,oh and daniel your back tail-ligts out. Anyway yung puddin great to hear from you and by the way,John i think some of your letter writing ability is starting to rub off o n pudd he is definitely improving which leads me to say Pudd that i am about to give you a long shot English lesson. First it's weather not whether ,lingual not lingral, frustrated not frustaited although you probably are, were not where, caught not cought, plumb not plum, Australia not Austalia, crackers not crakers and chocolate not choclate got that hummmmm! hhhummmmmmm! sorry yung man but it got the better of me. Keep being terrific love DAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and bob.

Hi John. I read a part of your posting which was published in an important German newspaper (FAZ) on sunday. I have to say that I was moved when I discovered how precise some of our 'World Cup guests' evaluate the situation here. Especially the part about patriotism in Germany hit the nail right on the head. Thanks for that statement. Greetings from Aachen. Btw. It's a shame that Italy made it into the next round!

Must say i'm a little disappointed with comment that brazil will "have no trouble DEMOLISHING the socceroos". Just fill u in that we did just beat the european champions Greece on thurs night here in Melbourne 1-0 with an Australian team which didn't include 3 of our starters and who had only been training together for a few a days. Hey guys, Glad to hear you are still having a good time. Even though we are at home and back in the routine, Scott and I have been keeping the team spirit alive, mostly by going out WAY too much. No RB & vodka though - we like our whiskey here, so keep that in mind if you come back to Canada because we will give you a very thorough lesson, in English too. Hey Pudd, I miss your shananigans............this is taking a long time type because i am trashed and drinking with your bro on a friday night. we had a argument on the rules of poker and i need you to gag and tie him while i tell how to play. thursday nights at yours is now poker night so start saving your 5c pieces mofo cuz im gonna take em all! i'm so happy your havin a good time, im so freekin drunk, we've been watching these u.f.c vids there like wrestling videos and the competitors now like special forces tacktiks, mui thai, boxing, judo and a whole bunch of other cool shite and they basically just get into a ring and beat the ever living crap out of each other. its awesome....and the guys are hot 2 which is an added bonus..well most of the time...you kind of have to make allowances for some of their heads cuz they get punched a lot. ;) yo mama is hot. i've been fighting with my boss. i've taken the whole week off work cuz he's being a turd. i'm going back on wednesday to see how he copes with my new "rules". its crap how bosses take you for granted. i'm not gonna let him any more and that's why he's havin a sook cuz i've decided enough is enough. i rock and i deserve a pat on the back every now and again. i am looking forward to you coming back, your little bro has red hair and is very insecure because of this. he needs your support and i'm afraid that the lousy $5 AU you are paying me per week to befriend this "special dude" is quickly becoming inadiquate to my needs. I desperatly need you to re-asses the situation(give me a pay rise) i miss you and i love you and you're one my favorites so come home happy and safe and we can all drink to that, have an unbelievable time of your life puddy...................love always from hails xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ps -

Hey guys, happy Easter from every one back home. It's good to know that u are coming home the day before my B'day, cos it means all my pressies will be coming from other countries, Cheers. If ur not sure on what to get just bring me back a swiss chick. Pudd, you and i both got a letter the other day with a fine of $52.40 for not voting during the Mornington Peninsula Shire Counsil Election. But do not concern urself my brother for i have taken the necessary precautions to ensure that thay will never bother us again. I threw both of those letters in the bin. I am just going to assume that everything will work it's self out. If it doesn't, those bastards will probably send out a second notice. A very clever tactic indeed. It is then that they shall indure the wrath of a flaming red nut, and that is someting no man wants to mess with. Or no woman for that matter. Well enough of that crap, u boys keep having fun doing what u are doing and we look foward to ur next update. Boofa.

yes john in the words of JOHN F.KENNEDY he meant to say I am a Berliner but,on that famous day when he stood up there in front of all the Berliners he screwed up,as U.S. Presidents sometimes do,and what he actually said was I AM A DOUGH-NUT.now you can imagine the laughter that greeted that,any-way I have that on good authority from a barman on the cnr of 53rd and 2nd street N.Y. So pudd once again you strike at some outlandish time in the morning, but that's ok its all good,it's 7am good friday as i sit here going through your pics and yeah at this stage i'd still recognise you at the airport so thats promising. That's quite a view you had while you were kicking the anti-terrorist police butts, you guys have probably caused them a lot of trauma over that, they'll probably need counseling. hey fellas. i dont have the internet at home anymore so i went to uni and sucked every one of your entries into my dump drive. I just finish reading everyone of your 13,823 words (61,580 characters) so far and wow. im just worried that when you get back you will be like, "and then we" and we will be like "yeah yeah we know we read it on the blog" so i hope you are doing some realy weird shit that you cant write about and are saving it for the pub back here. I just got back from paintball myself, i went with some guys from uni and i gotta say all those comp games realy paid off. im at ericas house now and everyone is comming round to say bye as she is pissing off too tomorrow. (shit i wish it was me, i cant believe you write so much. It would be like "remember adam whatever happened to to that guy") woo is me. anyway i gotta say maca kisses a photo of a missing guitar player everynight before bed ria talks her fair share too, shan is called monica from friends, im kicking macas ass at squash 8 to 18, anth is a vegetarian and richmond poured my beer over me. the other week they all set up the band in richmonds place and jamed at 12am for 3 songs ill show you the photo of DD on the drums with the kitchen sink behind him. yu know pudd i think those stirrupy type things may even be adjustable so rather than riding around prague for an hour with your ass saddle slappin an gettin sore, you shooda just asked juanita to adjust em (sheeeesh!) Anyways yung man great to hear from you at long last we were beginnin to think Joihn had done you in an was travellin around europe on your credit card or sumthin. We were just about ready to contact INTERPOL. Anyways the name of that castle is i think heidelburg castle and its located in Rothenburg Bavaria ,,and is a definite must see as it has the most extensive and largest torture chamber in europe, even the world, perhaps even the universe and possibly beyond that. You must make every effort to see that becos I'll be conducting a quizz on that when you get home. Mum and i worked at a german couples house about a week ago and we were actually askin them about this very topic ,becos i wanted you to see it and although he didn't know where this castle was probably becos i told them it was in berlin they did mention a place that they said was a must see becos hitler himself loved it and that was a place called SCHLOSS-SCHWANSTEIN a castle built into or on top of a mountain.Any way i have been doin a bit of research on this on the internet on your behalf which has taken me forever and like you could do it in a fraction of the time, and you just look up the internet under rothenburg and torture chambers and like i think they do castle tours from Munich or you can do it yourself but please make every effort to go there and give us another ring when you get a chance. Bye for now yung man.DAD(.)(.)

well hung.........over - From: Sweet Home Vienna
hey yung man just great to hear yer still working on expandin yer waist[waste] line. looks like yer well into the educational side of yer tour, every thing is well back home, yer cussin steve took us on a private tour of the new prison at laverton last week and compared to the old bluestone walls at coburg [chalk and cheese]. This one you can't get anywhere without iris scans very hi-tech,and if a prisoner is found anywhere he shouldn't be and gives some bullshit excuse then they just scan his id card and it comes up where he should be,what he should be doin and by whose authority,so they can't get away with much.the walls don't have razor wire or anything but they do have these huge cylindrical tubes sittin on top which severely tested out even the sas or some other swat team or the like. Not much else happenen keep up the fun we'll keep up the mun. see ya later buddy boy.

you tubby gut little piss pot. Well done! - From: Photo's
Me and the old man have just finished reading ur latest update. We are a bit concerned with the amount of beer drinking that u and john are doing puddy. I mean the whole family noticed that u were developing a bit of a gut BEFORE u left, due to many hours of mouse clicking as..................LORD LUCIFER, LEADER OF THE ARMIES OF THE NORTH, THE PROTECTOR OF AUSSIE VIRGINITY AND RIGHTFUL HEIR TO THE THRONE OF GONDOR and pritty much a down right nerd. But like i said, that was before u left. One can only wonder what horrific fat breed of bastard will be returning home to us. It might be best if u stay over there. After all dad would be quite upset if u came home and replaced his position. Well i suppose u are having a good time, so i say unto u dudes, go forth and wreak hovoc. Bed as many mistresses as the good lord intends. And Pudd do us a favour and make sure it is actually a women this time, no more squeezing the boobs of sum young boy. Bob & Boof

its hard life for a pimp out 'ere - From: New York, New...you know the rest
i supose i should add my two cents to all this....as previously stated ny is an awesome awesome place. i think someone once said "you can never know new york, you can only know your new york". and its so true...a lot of places you guys have mentioned ive never been to but definitely want to next time im there! funny story...our new drummer (crutey) had one of friends out here from LA writing and demoing songs...on her way back to LA she was sitting next to no other than Thirsty Merc! Of course she hadnt heard them but talked to them the whole way there...theyre just every where! john - vines new album comes out on the 1st of april over there so make sure you grab a copy. no patrick but the songs still sound pretty good.

- From: New York, New...you know the rest
Hey fellas, Good to hear you're having an awesome trip - New York is the fricken best, so much to do. Don't eat at TGI Fridays in Time Square cause its crap as crap can get and there's a bogan american waiter who says "welcome to TGI Fridays, the happiest place on earth" in this monotone gay arse voice with a long sulky look on his face.. Well I guess the poor guy does have to work at the crap place so it makes sense I suppose.... Take care boys, good to hear all the updates. Be good or not. whatever. xoxoxox Anna Ps its happy hour from 5pm -7pm everyday at Busters garage some funny pub just near or about 10 mins walk from ground zero, annnnd it's 10 bucks all you can drink!!! for 2 hours!!!!!

sniff - From: New York, New...you know the rest
Yo biatches. Jealousy seeths through my body as I write this, but my heart is nonetheless warmed that you're showing so much love for new yorks. But yeah, who wouldn't... So if you're staying on the upper west, go to Broadway, and between 104th and 105th is a bar that I spent far too much time in, Eden. Have yourselves an apple martini, yes rather feminine, but if I can get marcus to do it then so can you. Along with cheese pizza, its the taste of new yorks really. Also across the road between 103rd and 104th is Broadway pizza - best pizza in town, hands down! If you feel like another broadway show, go see Avenue Q, crass halarious puppetry at its best. They actually do a ticket lottery most weeknights at 5:30, where they draw out 12 front row tickets for $20 so well worth giving that a shot. The free weekly Village Voice is a handy companion, as it will tell you every gig thats going on in town. Another awesome thing to do is the circle line ferry tours from Seaport that go around both the Brooklyn and New Jersey sides of the island, give you fantastic views...as does the promenade that runs along the edge of Brooklyn Heights and overlooks the east side, its only one stop out of Manhattan on the red line (also a good chance to see Brooklyn sans the ghetto, hehe). Ok I'll shut up now, have fun, and dont forget to go to Strawberry Fields and show some respect! xox

WEeee're...........BAaaaaaaaacK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - From: The Big Apple
Hey pudd Hey John! It Sme how are you guys going? Wait, silly question! just got Brett to show me the pics (Awesome!)Pudd great to see you finally have a go on ice.I tried to get you to do it years ago but the ice-rinks were shuttin down too quick any-way that's my excuse.Mum and I just got back from Perth and we had an absolute ball and what a beautiful place. We took a cruise down the swan river and viewed Millionaires Row where all the rich and famous live,we saw this one house that Lang Handcock's business partner built took him 9 years to build and worth 55 million, makes me feel a little better about metricon's repairs to our house taking 6months.Hey! Your cousin Michaels wedding went off without a hitch ,(except theirs of course).Every thing went off well, except the venue, which they probably paid a fortune for ,right down by the swan river and everything, well the air-conditioner did'nt work very well, and like no-one could dance or any-thing,(Too- bloody hot).Oh what else? Oh yeah we met a guy over there that turned out that he was a musician but he was also apersonal carer for uncle Barry when he was alive. How's that eh! Any-way enough for now I'll sign off for now and spewin I missed your phone-call this morning, TAKE CARE BUDDY_BOY. Love dadxxxxxxxx

Fu#*in computers - From: Ta-Ron-O
Hey pudd just a quick add-on to what mum wrote yesterday cos we had so much trouble sending that damn message it wasn't funny. First, let me just tell you we are not computer literate just yet,but i plan to be by the end of the week the way I'm going. Its true i have finished the fish pond and yes it does look fantastic despite some people wanting me to trash it.Mum gets a real kick out of sitting there and feeding them,we bought a half-dozen and one of them is a real weird colour and while all the rest swim around on top of the water chasing the food mum drops in this other one just blows bubbles out of his gob, chases them, swallows them and then keeps repeating the process so mum has named him MAD-BOB,I paid her back though becos I got another half-dozen and there's an albino in there so I have named it EVIL LIN after masters of the universe.Any way me and mum wrote all this to you yesterday in a letter that was almost as long winded as this one and then just as we went to send it I hit the wrong button and OOPS! all gone so then I had to go to work and leave mum to it,she was half way through again and the computer crashed so third time lucky eh! I'm off to golf, take it easy Buddy-Boy! Dad!

Fantastic to hear you are having a great time, even though you are freezing your little nuts off, don't drink to much beer otherwise you'll end up with beer nuts ha ha!We have had warm weather up to now,but today is the last day of summer hope it continues to stay nice.Dad & I are flying over to Perth this thursday to attend your cousin Michaels wedding which is on the sunday and then we fly home on the monday, some other family members will be there as well,it should be a lot of fun.Lacey's not quite sure about Bretts cooking though, but I'm sure between the two of them they wont go hungrey.Dad has finished the fish pond and it looks really good, dad and I are quite proud of what he's done,he's very cleaver. We now have 12 gold fish in the pond & it's very relaxing just to watch them swimming around especially when we feed them.Anyway Puddy take care of yourself and stay safe, love mum, dad&lace.xxxxxooooo
