Sunny, blue sky, but still cold outside. Walked to the metro station to buy a ticket, there were no attendants so I used the ticket machine- which ate my credit card and didn't give me a ticket in return!! I was pissed off. Called mum and asked her to ring up the bank and cancel my card. Then headed to the Musee National du Moyen Age, which was full of heaps of old stuff. There was a room full of the 24 kings of Judah- all headless for some reason, I was amused. Saw beautiful wooden carvings. Then saw statues without arms and some missing arms and legs- they must have had some enemies long ago. Huge tapestries from the century, the one that a big deal was made over was the Lady and the Unicorn. Saw old shoes, keys and combs. Walked uphill to the Pantheon. It was huge. In the middle there is a clock that tells the time by a swinging gold ball. The crypt is excellent, many famous French heroes rest here.
Recognized a few names, Braille and Rousseau. Couldn't climb up the dome until the end of March, which is annoying, means I'll have to come back to Paris!Ahead of me as I came out of the Pantheon was the Eiffel Tower. Will go there later on. Walked down hill from the Pantheon towards Notre Dame. Had to wait 20 mins in the cold to climb the tower. I climbed 337 steps to the top. Had another great view of Paris, the rest of the church and the gargoyles. In places the stairs were very narrow, worn and slippery- quite tricky when its the only way and down the tower. Caught the metro to the Musee Rodin. The gardens were lovely and peaceful among the sculptures. The Gates of Hell is also here in the garden. There was a great view of the Dome Church, which is across the road and the Eiffel Tower was also in

Some of the heads from the kings of Judah. the distance. The Thinker was in the garden thinking and in life size. Saw The Kiss.
Walked across the road to the Dome Church, was looking forward to climbing it- but visitors weren't able to. The dome has 12kgs of gold leaf decorating the outside. Napoleon is buried here, but to his wishes to be close to the seine. Left the Dome Church and walked to the Eiffel Tower. I didn't think that it looked that big once I was there. It would have been to scary to climb, so I got the lift. On the second level there is a snack bar, souvenir shops, toilets and a restaurant. As I went up I didn't want to look down, I kept imagining that it was going to collapse. I stopped off at the second floor to procrastinate the lift to the top. Bought a few postcards, used the toilet, took a few deep breaths and went up. Did a quick lap and then went down. I was 276m high.
