Upon Leaving Menton, we made our way to Grasse, the home of perfume apparently. Now I was in one of those moods today where I guess I was just looking for trouble. We stopped at a perfume factory for another give us your money demonstration, the place was called Fragonade (I think, or similar maybe spelling wrong). When we got into the factory, we had this lovely french lady giving us a talk about perfumes and how the most important job in a perfume factory is being the "nose". She kept talking about "noses" as a profession, and I was really bad and just killed myself laughing. I felt horrible, but with her french accent and my willingness for mischief, it was a disaster. I made my way to the back of the group in total tears of laughter and had to calm myself down.
Oh as an aside due to the fact that I was then one of the last people walking through I discovered one of the ladies on the tour left jewellery in one of the previous hotels and was madly trying to track it back down. If going on a tour, seriously if you aren't wearing
it the whole time, dont take things like that. Its not worth the pain of losing!
Once we made our way through the factory it was then downstairs for the full on sales pitch. Joel wanted to buy some mens perfume for himself, and considering it was the first thing that could be classed as a momento of the trip for him, I willingly got him one.
After the perfume stop (which didn't have any food to buy), it was pretty much constant driving from there on in to Grenoble. We headed into the hills for the drive, and it was cute seeing sheep all over the road as well as some of the most breath taking roads and hills. For lunch we came to some little town. There wasn't much to chose from so most of us went into a little cafe. The meal portions were massive!!!! However the service and the way they ran things was just horrible. They would move people around part way through meals to seat others and little things like that. Also they seat you, run off and then seat and serve others before finally making their way back to you. Made
lunch a very long clump of time.
You would have thought after the lunch portion we wouldn't need further food but I couldn't resist trying a nutella crepe at a little stall in the carpark. Oh man! It was soooooooo good! Seriously we should have been eating these earlier!
Our final leg to Grenoble took us back through the mountains with snow capped topped. Our bus we alive with cameras clicking 😊 It was a stunning reminder of switzerland.
The hotel was beautiful! Very large rooms and we guess this is because the following day they send around a survey to get feedback on the trip, so they give you lovely rooms before the shoe closets in Paris! Our Hotel was also located just across the road from a Mall!!!! Now this was some mall! I guess we hadn't done much shopping anywhere on our trip so the chance to just walk through a real live shopping mall was stunning, let alone looking at their clothes, I could have gone crazy buying up the most gorgeous womens and kids clothes, but didn't want to weight down my luggage 😞 I should have gone crazy!
Tea was
yet another lovely meal. There was a kind of salad as first course, the main meal was another salmon dish, the wheat bits were interesting, but hey, if you are hungry you just eat it anyway, and a beautiful creme bruelle
