There's a church or shrine on top of the big rock - didn't climb up...

The bridge itself has pavements and a road - walking on the pavement was to close to the precipice for me.

Castellane itself has been restored as a tourist town, but has retained all its authenticity

It was just a bit of flat roof...

To avoid the car overheating, we went round the Alps - this was the alternative and it wasn't that low, but much better than 9000 feet

I think I held the camera at arms length over the edge and pressed the shutter - I don't think I actually composed a shot..

This is the lake at the end of our drive along the gorge... would have been lovely to stop and swim there, and it was roasting hot, but sadly it was not to be. Anoether time maybe

On this particular day Willy drove about 500 miles - and for about the last hundred we'd been trying unsuccesfully to find a bed for the night - when we finally stopped, Willy more or less fell asleep in the (very pink) bath
CharmesCharmes
Charmes

A gorgeous little northern French town, with all of the traditional attrributes, such as a friendly cafe, a square, boulangeries etc. It's also on the banks of the upper Moselle, so is quite pretty - and even has a municipal campsite on the riverside
