Well I'm aching all over and almost missed our bus stop from dozing on the bus ride back to our lodging. We have spent 9 hours roaming the streets of Lyon today ontop of the 12 hours yesterday . Its daylight saving with an addditional 2 hours being in the northern hemisphere ... so the sky is still has a tone of blue up to 9pm. It is very deceptive.

We are staying in a B&B in Lentilly (pronounced Lenteey) owned by a very lovely woman named Florence. She was telling me this morning that the house has been in her family for 3 generations. Its a typical weathered country villa with a enchanting unkempt traditional garden that includes some very large old trees a disused loam tennis court and a beautiful pond.

I want to post these pictures as they are worth sharing. I could have stayed longer just to hang out around the house. But alas we are off to Nice tomorrow.

Kate

All sounds so beautiful. We just forget how young and sterile Australia can be... Going to France soon and will be looking at eveything with new eyes again. Old houses, gates, doors, tables, plates, glasses... Everything has a story... And the food??? What do you think about the food?? xx
