The Eurostar is great. A convenient and quick way to get to France. Not that impressed with the Paris Metro though. While reasonably easy to navigate, unlike the London underground (which is kept really clean), the Metro is dirty and smelly and we had to side step several times to avoid the vomit and pee.

We arrived at Claire's flat mid afternoon. Some may recollect that I took a chance and booked a small (and I mean its really small), studio apartment in central Paris. It was done via a peer to peer website where people put their flats and rooms up for rent (private arrangement... so some may say its a risk). The young lady that owned the apartment is really lovely. Left yogurt, juice and bread stick for us and gave us maps and advice. Le Marais is a really old inner Paris area with many historic and some medieval buildings. Had a great walk around and found lots of great shops and restaurants.
