Our last train ride in Europe to Charles Du Gaulle airport, photo was taken after most passengers had got off the train at the "Paris Exhibition" stop
It was another early start on the day we left Paris for Dubai. We had three different methods of getting to Charles du Gaulle airport by 9:00am

1. By private transfer

2. By Taxi

3. By Metro and then transfer to the RER (Regional train)

We were confident by now we knew the Paris Metro pretty well, so catching the metro from nearby our B&B into the Gare de Nord train station and then transfering onto a regional train to the airport, should not be too difficult, the journy should take about 1 hour. All we needed to do was make sure we left in plenty of time to 'get lost'.

The B&B we had stayed at in Paris had been great, the only problem was it was on the 5th Floor and no elevator so at 7:00am when we departed we had to carry our suitcases down the winding staircase and attempt to keep noise at a minimum.

With lugguge and kids in tow, we then walked 2 blocks to Richard Lenoir Metro station, getting our luggage through the turnstile was a challenge but once the luggage and kids were through we caught the

next train to Gare du Nord.

Once at Gare du Nord we had to do some searching to find the RER B line to Charles du Gaulle airport it took a little longer than anticipated so after going down one esculator then back up and then back down a different esculator we eventually found the correct platform. Once the train arrived it was already almost full so we all squeezed on (making sure we had all kids and suitcases). From memory we had about 5 stops we were all standing around the centre pole near the doors and due to the fact it was so crowded John and Carolyn were sitting on two of our suitcases in an attempt to take up less space but also to rest weary legs. Fortunalty the stop prior to the airport was the "Paris Exhibition" centre this is where most people disembarked from the train, and we again had some room to breathe.

We arrived at the airport with plenty of time to find out where we had to go to check in and then walk to the required gate for boarding. The kids even had time to catch up on homework

and journals, before we boarded the plane.
