Tiny cars!!
Even smaller than the mini cooper!! It has only been " days since we flew here to Europe and it already seems like ages because we have done so much!! The first night in our hostel in London was fun. Heidi and I decided to brave the hot tub that was on the deck so we could relax and ended up talking to some pretty cool people. There were a lot of people from Canada and they thought it was pretty funny how we were going to say we were Canadian. It's also funny to hear others opinions of Americans, not always the best, and everyone is quick to stereotype, but they can get over it. we went to bed pretty early, mainly because we were in a room with 8 other people who were sleeping all day and night. Heidi and I both woke up at 5 am (I know what the heck right??) and went for a walk around our neighborhood. We ended up booking this same hostel for our last two days in Europe, so at least it will be a little familiar later. Then we walked back to the train station to catch the train to Paris (but not before stopping at a
McDonalds... or wrather Mac Donalds cause it was the only thing open that erarly). Our train to Paris was cool... you are traveling down the countryside in England, go underground for 20 minutes and then all of a sudden you are in France. When we got to Paris, once again we had to figure out the train and subway system, which proved to be way more difficult. Our bags were heavy, we were tired, and no one spoke enough English for us to ask detailed questions. We finally figured it out and made it to our hotel in a suburb of Paris. Really tiny rooms, but its very clean and we have our own room and bathroom. Right away we fell asleep and accidently slept for 4 hours. I woke up at 9 pm and was a little dissapointed we had slept so long, but we definitely made up for it. We hopped on a subway to the Eiffel Tower and wandered the streets till we found it... granted it was kind of hard to miss. But WOW... it was so amazing at night and we got to see the sparkling light show go off for about 10 minutes. Right
Eiffel Tower Lights
The Eiffel Tower light show at night.. amazing!! next to the tower was a little carnival so we had some crepés and somekind of cheesebread with ham that seems to be everywhere... oh and the most amazing ice cream ever. It was raining too which wasnt so much fun, but what are you going to do, we are in Paris!!! It was late so we headed home to the hotel and walked through the park by the tower. There wasn't a single bench that didn't have either someone making out on it, or a group of friends drinking. In fact everyone everywhere was making out, I think its something in the water :P Today was crazy too. We woke up at 7 and walked outside our hotel and found a farmers market. We got some fresh fruit and I got a croissant at a corner bakery (most amazing fruit and croissant by the way). Then we went straight to the post office so Heidi could mail some of her stuff home.... yeah she totally overpacked and was miserable, so we had to fix that. Then we took the subway to downtown Paris. I have to say, once you master the subway system, you can get ANYWHERE and really
easily. It took me a while to figure out that when you buy your ticket you don't need to tell them where you are going, cause they really dont care. So we went to the Louvre first, got there early so it wasn't as crowded. Absolutely amazing, but it is so big that we only skimmed the surface, just saw the important stuff to us. Then we walked to the Notre Dame Cathedral and took some pictures. We walked around there for a while and found this whole marketplace you couldnt even see from the street and browsed around. The weather finally cleared up after that and we actually saw some sun so we went back to the Eiffel Tower, but a different side of it and had a really cool view. THEN we took a subway to The Arc de Triomphe and saw the worlds largest traffic roundabout... also the worlds largest traffic disaster. That goes to say for the traffic in all of Paris, I have seen some of the worst drivers and I don't know how there aren't a million accidents a day. So those were the highlights of our time in Paris, we did a lot
of people watching and this is definitely a good place to do it. Today we tried to talk more with the locals after realizing that no matter what we do we are going to look dumb doing it, so why care?? But everyone has been so nice, despite what so many had warned us about, I don't know where they were talking about!! Well thats all for now from Paris.... more later!!!!!

So happy you are alive ! ! !
Hello Ladies! We just got back from Vegas. We were so worried about you all week since we heard you were sick the day you left. It looks like you recovered ok! 5 out of 8 of us in Vegas were sick thanks to William, the walking germ-catch-and-release carrier. Megan got sick, but not until last night so thankfully her honeymoon wasn't ruined. We all had a great time! It is SOOOO exciting to hear of your travels so far and you make me laugh with your antics that you somehow manage to catch on camera. We are going to check this out regularly to follow your adventures. The kitties are doing fine. Looks like all survived our absence. Take care girls and be careful! Love you, Mom
