The first wedding anniversary weekend - where else but Paris right? Very lazy long weekend away this one. Settled ourselves into accommodation just two streets back from the Louvre and frittered the time away meandering between various sites of historical/cultural significance and cafe’s - drinking wine and eating cheese!

Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre were as impressive as ever, and also as tourist laden as ever, so we took our time to explore a few different avenues. The Conciergerie was an interesting place to visit - for it was here that all those revolutionary souls awaited their beheading, including of course Maire Antoinette. The pick of the grand designs and architecture in Paris for mine, on this trip at least - was the Opera House. Doesn’t look much from the outside but the interior is nothing short of spectacular - no expensed spared here ladies and gents!

And yes, there was plenty of wine and cheese. Adam says: More Wine!
