From Darmstadt to Paris

Hello!

On Friday evening May 18. a group of 4 Erasmus exchange students - 3 turkish, 1 Finn = Me 😊 - took a night bus from Darmstadt to Paris. We arrived at Paris at 7 am the next morning, after an 8-hour-ride in a bus.

The plan was to spend a long weekend, all together 4 days, in Paris. After the trip I can say, that was just barely enough time to see the top 10 places of the city! Such a shame - I just have to visit the city sometime soon again! 😊

After we got our hotel rooms we headed for downtown tourist attractions. We started out with the Notre Dame cathedral. Gorgeous cathedral! From there we continued to see the ultra modern building of Pompidou and the great art park nearby. Very unordinary place indeed! From Pompidou we headed for Louvre and the Champs Elyseé. The day was gorgeous so we decided to save Louvre for a rainy day and continued further towards the Arc de Triomphe. We passed Plaza de la Concorde and finally got to the arc. We climbed to the roof of the arc to see the view over Paris.

Such a BEAUTIFUL sight! Strongly recommended!!

It was getting late but we wanted to see the number one of the top 10 sights: the Eiffel tower!

Visitors of Eiffel tower: prepare yourself for a long (good 2,5 hours) waiting time! As this is how long it took us to get to the second level of the Eiffel tower (third was temporarily closed). But it was all worth it!!

Tired but very happy we headed for our hotel in the west of the city. Visitors who like the night life a piece of advice: Paris metro closes at 2am, RER trains before midnight! But, taxis aren't that expensive either!!! 😊
