After signing out of our accommodation in Dresden, on the recommendation of our hosts, we visited Moritzburg Castle on the way out of Dresden.
As can be seen from the pictures, it is a large castle in the centre of a lake, linked by a causeway to the land. Basically for defence purposes. This was one of the castles of King August the Strong.
As we were leaving Dresden the water was very close to topping the sand bags along the river.
From there we made our way to Prague. The journey was a little staggered due to flooding, but we still made reasonable time.
We stayed in Czech Republic's first Eco Tourism Hotel, situated in a former 17th Century Abbey, which partially remains an Abbey. The hotel was excellent, with a fine Czech Restaurant on site, which we sampled that night. The food was delicious.
