From the camp site it was a rather convoluted 12k trip into Zagreb requiring a 500m walk followed by bus and tram rides, so we decided to drive in which turned out to be quite straightforward and with the help of a very friendly traffic warden we found somewhere near the centre to leave the van. Unfortunately we were limited to 2 hours parking, but with the help of a Lonely Planet walking route managed to see most of the major sights in both the lower and upper towns whilst dodging the showers, Friday shoppers and other tourists.
In the afternoon we drove southwards to an excellent camper stop near to the Plitvice Lakes National Park which, weather permitting, we plan to see tomorrow.
