Looking over SplitLooking over SplitLooking over Split

The view from Marjan hill. Lara is wearing a silly sun hat, but it was very sunny!
I joined Lara on a trip that started by driving down the length of the Adriatic coast of Croatia. We spent our first night in Zadar, with its many churches, before driving on to Split. In Split, we explored the old town, which is mostly built in the remains of the Roman Emperor Diocletian's Palace! To get a view over the city, we climbed up Marjan hill, where I had my photo taken with Lara before running to catch the bus to Dubrovnik. The next day, we walked the city walls of Dubrovnik to get some lovely views over the city. We found a peaceful spot overlooking the walled city to eat our picnic lunch before trying to ride the cable car up to the top of the hill behind Dubrovnik, but our plan was thwarted by the cable car refusing to work when we were in it... at least we were at the bottom, not the top!
